To mark GPA’s 30th anniversary, our Chief Executive, Benjamin Prunonosa, looks back – in the Sécurité 360 supplement published on 28 September 2026 in 24 heures and La Tribune de Genève – on three decades of transformation in the security sector.
From a Geneva-based company to a national player
Founded in Geneva in 1996 to provide site and premises security, retail security, patrols and emergency response services, GPA has been built on a firm belief: security is built first and foremost on the ground, through direct contact with clients and an understanding of their circumstances.
Thirty years on, GPA has 800 employees, more than 100 service vehicles and serves over 10,000 customers across Switzerland, from Geneva to Lugano, including Vaud, Bern, Basel, Zurich, Gstaad, St Moritz, Neuchâtel and Fribourg. Since joining the Millennium Group in 2023 and the appointment of Benjamin Prunonosa as Chief Executive in 2024, the company has accelerated its growth and undertaken a thorough reorganisation of its structure and operational capabilities.
To anticipate rather than react
The nature of threats has changed: alongside traditional risks, we now face more targeted forms of crime, such as organised burglaries and home-jacking. To address these threats, GPA relies on its G-SOC, an operational centre active 24 hours a day, which coordinates open-source intelligence (OSINT), data analysis, intelligent video surveillance, biometrics, autonomous drones and ground-based robots.
“It is better to detect a weak signal three days before an incident than to write the best report three days afterwards,” summarises Benjamin Prunonosa.
The agent at the heart of performance
Technology does not replace people; it enhances what they do. GPA has its own 600 m² training centre in Vernier, complete with a shooting range, a dojo, modular rooms and simulation tools, where nine trainers support staff throughout their career. This high standard means, in particular, that a GPA patrol can respond in under nine minutes on average in Geneva, 24 hours a day.
A fourth decade looking to the future
“Our ambition is to ensure that security is recognised as a genuinely strategic function, going far beyond the mere provision of surveillance services. We must remain close to our clients, understand their challenges and evolve alongside them. That is how we will continue to stay one step ahead.”
